Beginner’s Corner
For my new running buddies
I’ve often felt like a beginner in running simply because I’m not the fastest runner. I ran winter track in high school, competing in the 800-meter event. I don’t remember a day where I ever placed anywhere but last.
I’ve run twelve full marathons and sixteen half marathons almost two decades later. I’ve learned speed doesn’t dictate my knowledge of the sport.
In 2020, I became a certified running coach through the UESCA online coaching program. In 2024, I advanced my knowledge and became an endurance sports nutrition coach.
Here, I’ve pieced together all the knowledge I’ve learned over the years from my personal running experience and how it ties in with the science of running. The pages below will help you focus on your journey as a new runner.
