Honey Stinger Oat + Honey Bar Review: Sweet Energy
For a decade, I’ve relied on Honey Stinger products. Their innovative Honey Energy Gels got me through several marathons and training cycles. With the release of the Oat + Honey Bar in 2023, they once again got me hooked.
If you’re wondering if these energy bars are for you, I’m here to shine a little light on what you can expect so you can be confident if you buy them. Let’s get right to it!
What Are Honey Stinger Oat + Honey Bars?

As with all things Honey Stingers, the Oat + Honey Bars are a satisfying, healthy snack that’s light enough to eat before your workout.
Made with peanuts, oats, honey, caramel, and toasted granola, the Oat + Honey bars provide flavor and texture. Honey Stinger claims they derived the bar from the beloved breakfast bowl many athletes turn to before exercise.
These bars are formulated to be eaten before a workout. One bar provides an ideal balance of carbohydrates, fat, and protein.
Also worth noting is that the Oat + Honey Bars are gluten-free and made from non-GMO ingredients.
Honey Stinger Oat + Honey Bars come in Original or Chocolate Chocolate Chip (my favorite!). Whether you’re a runner, cyclist, or hiker, these portable bars are an ideal way to fuel up before putting in work.
Oat + Honey Bar Nutrition
Honey Stinger Oat + Honey Bars are made with peanuts, instant oats, and organic honey.
The 6 grams of protein per bar comes from a mix of whey protein isolate and milk protein isolate. Each bar is 190 calories and has the perfect blend of protein, carbohydrates, and fat.
Each Oat + Honey Bar has 9 grams of fat, 23 grams of carbohydrates, and 12 grams of sugar (including 11 grams of added sugar).
The bars contain peanuts and are produced in a facility that handles tree nuts, eggs, wheat, and soy.
My Review of Honey Stinger Oat + Honey Bars
I’ve been a Honey Stinger ambassador since 2017. This opportunity has allowed me to try the newest products, sometimes before they’re released to the public.
I bought a box of each flavor in February 2023 for 50% off before release.
The first time I tried them, I was at work. I packed one of the Chocolate Chocolate Chip Oat + Honey Bars and was very pleased!
It was delicious and helped sustain me for a few hours. The rolled granola on the outside was a little messy, but that didn’t matter to me for the benefits of flavor and nutrition.
Then, I tried the original flavor before heading out for a hike. I enjoyed it, but as a big chocolate fan, the flavor wasn’t as good. I also noticed that I wasn’t sustained for quite as long for an intense activity like hiking.
Since that hike, I’ve always brought additional fuel when I head out and opt to have an Oat + Honey Bar beforehand. Sometimes, I pack a Honey Stinger Waffle or their Energy Chews.
Overall, I’ve been so pleased with the Oat + Honey Bars. I’ll only buy the chocolate flavor because it seems to have an elevated tastiness that I don’t feel the original flavor has.

Final Thoughts: Honey Stinger Oat + Honey Bar
If you’re new to the Honey Stinger brand, there are many delicious nutritional options for you. However, I am confident that starting with the Honey Stinger Oat + Honey Bar is a good way to go.
I highly recommend the Chocolate Chocolate Chip Oat + Honey Bars if you’re a big chocolate fan like I am. But the original will be best if you enjoy caramel, not chocolate.
With Honey Stinger, you’re getting a great blend of nutrition, commitment to quality, and flavor. They really know how to make a tasty fuel source. There’s a reason I’ve gone from their energy gels to waffles and beyond!
